  • Offer of non porcine flu vaccination

    Thu 26 Nov 2020 GA

NHS England and Public Health England have identified, this season, an offer of inactivated influenza vaccine (IIV) being made to children whose parents refuse live attenuated influenza vaccine (LAIV) due to the porcine gelatine content.

Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust have been advised by commissioners that they can now approach parents to request expressions of interest with regards to this offer.

The offer of this vaccination will be delivered in a clinic setting and will be dependent on both vaccine availability and the capacity within the Immunisation Team to deliver this offer at short request.

If you would like further information on this please contact the Immunisation Team on 0121 466 3440

This information will also be available on the Immunisation Team flu website: https://www.bhamcommunity.nhs.uk/patients-public/children-and-young-people/services-parent-portal/immunisation-services/flu/

  • Road Safety

    Mon 16 Nov 2020 NJM

    Dear Parents and Carers,

You will no doubt have noticed that since Half Term the mornings are gloomier, the nights are drawing in and it is now getting more difficult to see pedestrians and cyclists.

Please ensure you take extra care when travelling to and from School and when out and about as a result of this. To ensure your journeys to and from School are as safe as possible we are asking you to:

    • Ensure your child(ren) wears something bright (a bright coat, backpack or wear something reflective)
    • Walk to and from School whenever you can
    • If you need to travel by car to and from School, please park away from the main entrance on Far Wood Road and enjoy a short walk to and / or from School with your child(ren)

Please search "Be Bright Be Seen" to find some more information, resources and fun games.

    Thank you and stay safe.

    Mr. N Malin

Strategic Business Manager & School Health & Safety Manager
